People of His Own Possession

“In the third month after the sons of Israel had gone out of the land of Egypt, on that very day they came into the wilderness of Sinai. 2When they set out from Rephidim, they came to the wilderness of Sinai and camped in the wilderness; and there Israel camped in front of the mountain. 3Moses went up to God, and the LORD called to him from the mountain, saying, “Thus you shall say to the house of Jacob and tell the sons of Israel: 4 `You yourselves have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles’ wings, and brought you to Myself. 5 `Now then, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be My own possession among all the peoples, for all the earth is Mine; 6and you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’ These are the words that you shall speak to the sons of Israel.”

Do you belong to God? Many people think they do when in fact they do not. It is very common today for preachers to tell people all you have to do to be saved is believe Jesus is the Son of God and accept Him into your heart and ask Him to forgive you of all your sins. Sounds nice, but it just isn’t so. Nowhere in the bible to find any such instruction concerning one’s salvation. What you do find in the Bible is that one must believe Jesus is the Son of God but that is not enough. James 2:19 tells us “The demons also believe and tremble”. Jesus Himself said, “I tell you no, expect you repent you will all perish.” (Luke 13:3) Additionally, Jesus said we must confess Him before men or He will not confess us before the Father. (Matthew 10:32-33) In Romans 10:9-10 we are told, “Confession is made unto salvation”. Finally, listening to Jesus Himself we learn that we must be baptized in order to be saved. “He that believes and is baptized will be saved, he who disbelieves shall be condemned.” (Mark 16:16) Now, do you belong to God? If you have not done the above things you do not. If you would like to become a child of God call right now (219) 381-1659.
