Representing God

“It was the same Aaron and Moses to whom the LORD said, “Bring out the sons of Israel from the land of Egypt according to their hosts.” 27They were the ones who spoke to Pharaoh king of Egypt about bringing out the sons of Israel from Egypt; it was the same Moses and Aaron. 28Now it came about on the day when the LORD spoke to Moses in the land of Egypt, 29that the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, “I am the LORD; speak to Pharaoh king of Egypt all that I speak to you.” 30But Moses said before the LORD, “Behold, I am unskilled in speech; how then will Pharaoh listen to me?” 1Then the LORD said to Moses, “See, I make you as God to Pharaoh, and your brother Aaron shall be your prophet. 2″You shall speak all that I command you, and your brother Aaron shall speak to Pharaoh that he let the sons of Israel go out of his land.” (Genesis 6:26-7:2)
God made Moses His representative, His ambassador. He was to stand before the Pharaoh and speak for God through his brother Aaron. Do people about you know you are a Christian? When I was growing up in Texas there was a comic strip in the local newspaper called Rick O’Shaw. It was a Western themed comic strip. I didn’t find it particularly funny but there was one episode I have remembered for over 50 years. As Rick was mounting his horse a friend remarked, “I’ve known you for all these years and just knew you were a Christian.” Rick’s response was, “Well, I’m real sorry to hear that because that must mean I’m not doing it right.” Christians are to be a “light to the world” and reflect God in our lives. We are to live so as to always bring God glory. “You are bought with a price, therefore glorify God in your bodies which belong to Him.” (1 Corinthians 6:20) I think one of the problems is so many people see God as a “task master” like the people of Israel had to deal with in Egypt long ago who cannot be pleased and looks to punish evils doers. Nothing could be further from the truth. Do you represent God well in your daily life? Are you seen as different from others because your lifestyle is pure and wholesome? May I encourage you to represent God well? Live for Him in all you do and enjoy your relationship with Him.
I would like to send you my sermon, “Enjoying God”. It is a FREE CD you can listen to in your car while on the way to work. Simply ask for it in the comments section below.
